Emerald Rings
Emerald Rings as Precious Gemstone
The value of an emerald depends on cut, color, clarity and carat – the famous
4 Cs test developed by the de Beers Group for diamonds. In many cases, an
emerald can be more expensive than a comparable diamond. By weight, the emerald
is the most valuable gemstone in the world.
Inclusions in emeralds are not rare, in fact – they're tolerated. They are
like fingerprints in that they give each emerald a distinct personality.
Most people think of the rectangular emerald step cut when they envision the
stone. However, rounds, ovals, squares and cabochons – smooth – cuts are not
unknown.
